Måneskin is an Italian rock band formed in Rome in 2016. The group is composed of Damiano David (vocalist), Victoria De Angelis (bassist), Thomas Raggi (guitarist) and Ethan Torchio (drummer). With an explosive mix of classic and contemporary rock, accompanied by a bold aesthetic, Måneskin has revitalised rock on the global scene, winning over audiences of all ages and nationalities. Beginnings and Professional Career of Måneskin
Måneskin was born when its members, schoolmates, decided to form a band to experiment with different musical genres and styles. The band’s name comes from Danish, Victoria’s native language, and means “luz de luna” . They started playing in the streets of Rome and gained recognition after participating in the Italian version of The X Factor in 2017, where they finished in second place.
That same year, they released their first EP, Chosen, followed by their debut album, Il Ballo della Vita (2018), which catapulted them to stardom in Italy. Songs like “Morirò da Re” y “Torna a Casa” became huge national hits. In 2021, they represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest with “Zitti e Buoni” winning the competition and consolidating its place on the international scene.
The album Teatro d’ira: Vol. I (2021) reaffirmed its dominance in the global charts with tracks like “I Wanna Be Your Slave” and its version of “Beggin’” which went viral on platforms such as TikTok. In 2023, they released their third album, Rush!, consolidating their artistic evolution and their position as a benchmark of modern rock.
